‘Compassion’ long listed for the 2025 Voss Literary Prize.

‘Compassion’ was long listed for the 2025 Voss Literary Prize. This prize is awarded for the best novel in the previous year with judges from the Australian University Heads of English Departments. 

Julie Janson is the recipient of the Copyright Agency Author Fellowship 2025.  The fellowship is to give support to an established Australian author to create a new work for publication. Julie’s new historical  novel has the working title: ‘Deliverance’. It is the third in the novel trilogy about Indigenous resistance to British Colonialism in the Hawkesbury River region of New South Wales and beyond. The trilogy began with ‘Benevolence’.

Julie Janson was chosen by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and the University of Western Australia to represent Australian authors at the Hyderabad Osmania University Conference and the Bangalore Writers Festival in 2025.
